When the Grand Dame of Monnybrook Labradors turned 18 months old, she was diagnosed with Osteochondritis Dissecans (OCD) in both hocks, which led to her medical retirement. It was clear that breeding with Mackie would not be responsible in light of this diagnosis, and so her hopes of becoming a mother were dashed.
Eventually, a new era began for Monnybrook Labradors with the arrival of ADRI (Miss Nuggy). Now, Mackie oversees the activity around Miss Nuggy's whelping box.
